Bonnie, Billy Joe and Stanley, We are so sorry to hear about JT. He was a fine man and very hard working. Greene County has lost a wonderful person. I remember when you all first moved to Greene County and I met Billy Joe, still very young, while cutting silage in my aunt's field(Irene Gentry)and that was many years ago. Just know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families at this hard time in your lives. Life isn't fair, but I guess God needed a wonderful angel and a great helper just a little early. We cannot begin to tell you the love we have for J.T. I do believe some of our most memorable times have been spent doing things around what Bonnie & J. T. loved doing the most....making our family get togethers the best! I don't know who got the most out of our gatherings....us or J.T. The hayrides, the 4th of July cookouts, the Halloween parties....the list just keeps going on and on. J. T. just went over the call of duty....all to make sure the family had a good time! And we did! We love you Bonnie and family and we know how much you are going to miss J. T. We all are! He was truly a gift from Heaven! We must remember the good days, the good times. I can promise you, they out-weigh the bad! May J.T. now rest in peace! Much love, Barb & John

Bonnie, Always remember that when we think we can't take another step on our own, that is when God picks us up and carry us. God will give you a new grace to get through. As I remember J.T., I think about the times we came down for the 4th of July cookouts and how J.T. always spent time with the kids. Those will always be special memories for us. I pray that God wraps you and the family in His loving arms and provides you with all you need to make it through. Love, Judy, Shelby and Ty

Uncle JT was a very kind and caring man. He always had time for all his nieces and nephews, and treated us just like we were his own. He taught me how to ride a horse and break a wild pony. he took us camping as children, and we spent many happy, happy moments with him and Aunt Bonnie as a child. he will be missed dearly Joanie Barbe

We were so saddened to hear about Mr. J.T. I'm so thankful that I got to see him & talk to him at Athens Regional. I think alot of the whole family(especially Stanley & Teri), & I know what you all are going through. He was quite a man & you will miss him greatly, but just know that he's in Heaven, no more pain, no more suffering, he's happy & free & making a place for his remaining family. You will see him again. Hold on to all the wonderful memories, & keep trusting in the Lord, & he will get you through this. I loved Mr. J.T. too, & can't wait to see him again myself. Our thoughts & prayers are with you all! Stanley & Teri, I'm here if you need anything, I love you guys!! God bless you & be with you all!

Bonnie and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. We remember with gratitude the wonderful support that J.T. (and you) always provided to The Generals. J.T. was viewed as a close friend by our group, and we will never forget him. Zudy and I always enjoyed being with J.T. He seemed to us to be so respectful to everyone and we are thankful that he has been a part of our lives if only for a brief time. Please know that we love you and you have our deepest sympathy. Love, Wesley and Zudy Tolley

Dear Family, I am very saddened to hear of the loss of such a good man. I have very good memories of all the times on the wagon trains that we use to go on and the halloween festival that was held at his place. I know that it is very hard to try to deal with and it will not come easy but you can make it. I will be praying for the whole family and please look to God for the help to make it threw these times. THERE WAS SO MUCH I WANTED TO SAY TO J.T. I WANTED HIM TO KNOW THAT I THOUGHT HE WAS AN AWESOME MAN, NOT JUST A BROTHER-IN LAW, WHICH I WAS VERY PROUD OF.I THINK HIS GOAL WAS TO GIVE GROWNUPS AND CHILDREN MEMORIES. HE DID AN AWESOME JOB OF THAT. I THANK HIM.HE GAVE ALL OF US SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO.I DON'T THINK THERE WAS ANYTHING HE WOULD NOT HAVE DONE FOR US. THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM,I TOLD HIM HE WAS ALWAYS THE BEST BROTHER-IN-LAW WE COULD HAVE. IN HIS WEAK VOICE, AND I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS. HE SAID " I TRIED TO BE".

To The Hayes family, Herb and I have been out of town this past week and just read about J.T. We were so shocked and saddened with the news. Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. J.T. and Billy Joe were here when we built our home and we appreciated their work and their kindness. We would always think about J.T. when we drove by your home on Liberty Church Rd. on our way to the lake. Again, we are so sorry for your loss and the loss to our community.
