My sincere sympathy to you, Beverly and your entire family. Just know please of the high regard my Mother and Daddy as well as Daniel and Virginia, myself all held for Charles and yourself. You were always the hometown couple who were held up by our parents for us youngsters. In fact, Charles was the very first boy that my Daddy, Ford Oliver, would allow Virginia to date....This speaks volumns for the high regard that my Daddy had for Charles. RIP Ol' Charles....Thank you for the inspiring/great example that you set. Bless your soul and your Family.

We are saddened to hear of Charles' homegoing. Many of us are currently sick or we would be there in person for you. We will come to visit Beverly as soon as we are able. Please know that we all loved Charles, but Reid probably did most of all. They are together again fishing, hunting, yacking, 3and just cutting up.

Dear Copelan Family, I was saddened to hear of Charles' passing. I have many fond memories of the times we worked together in the DNR. One of the fondest I have is a little humorous. Charles and I were transporting several exotic snakes, all poisonous, from an illegal side show in Augusta to the herpetologist at the Atlanta Zoo. Charles was sitting in the passenger seat with his revolver laying across his lap. He said to me, "Colonel, I just want you to know that if any one of them gets out, your car is going to get shot up pretty bad." What a great man he was. He will certainly be remembered by those of us who knew him as a dedicated, humble and compassionate friend. May God bless and comfort you in your time of sorrow, Colonel Joel Brown GA DNR, Retired

Miss Beverly, Lindy, Bruce, and Carol: I was so saddened to hear about Mr. Charles. He was always one of my favorite people and he always made me smile when I would see him. I'll never forget bringing him up on stage and singing "It Had to Be You" to him. He was a great sport to do that. Greene County won't be the same without him there. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Much Love to You All!!! Jana
