I had the pleasure of working with John on the COG 2014 National Team for over a year. John was always focused on how he could make things better and created the video for next year's National even after he had a stroke and just wouldn't give up. He shared a lot of stories during this time and we realized, not only was he a very talented individual, but in general an all around good guy willing to do whatever it took. God Speed John.

To the Family of John Carver, Wow...words just don't come. Mr. Carver was an extraordinary person. Our oldest had the pleasure of being one of his students at GCHS and I had the pleasure of working with him at GCHS. There will not be another one like him. May you ride the big motorcycle in the mountains of Heaven. You will be missed. RIP Jan & David Hallman, Josh and Robert Holliday

John was a good friend and while we haven't seen each other for a while I felt a loss and a void in the world when I first learned of his passing. He was always willing to help out friends new and old and his presence will be sorely missed in the years to come. My prayers are with Cindy, April, and Angela. Godspeed John. Go quietly into Red Dawn.

Our paths crossed a few times in past years via motorcycle events or trips. My thoughts and prayers with the family during this time. Helen Keller - "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, For all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." My next ride I will lower my back pegs to take John Ray along in memory.

My prayers go out for you all. Johnny was unique, a one of a kind person. He often allowed me, his little cousin, to tag along when my brother Donald didn't want me. To this day, I can see him carrying his pet rooster, yes a rooster, around Mammy's house. No one else could catch that fool rooster, but he always let Johnny carry him around. Johnny will be missed.

I am shocked at the sudden passing of my cousin. Johnny was always such fun to be around and of course if it was a machine he was a genius. Although we did not get together often, I will surely miss his smile and good stories. Praying for the family during this difficult time

So sorry about the passing of Johnny, will sure miss talking to him on Email. A lot of good memories growing up & family gathering. Hadn't seen him in a long time, he rode up on his motorcycle at the Carver Reunion, it was a good surprise. One thing I will always remember as a child, I,m 8 yrs older, Aunt Hazel would have me to watch him out playing, if Johnny saw sand, he would pick it up & eat it like candy. And playing in the little creek by their house. He was a great cousin. Love & prays . Dixie & Jackkj

I had the pleasure to know John for 15 years in the Greene County School System and am very sad to see such a great person leave this world. John was a true warrior for the students he taught and came in contact with. He always wanted the very best for the students and demonstrated it through his career as a educator and as a board member. My feelings go out to the family. We can all take comfort that John is in a much better place. We will all miss you.

I always enjoyed hearing about your bike trips and the pleasure you reaped from your journeys as the wind whispered and howled. This is the John that loved the earth in all its beauty. As you taught, you transferred that beauty to your students and your co-workers. Ride on and fill the sky with laughter.

It is just so hard to believe that another generation in the carver family has passed on. I am so sorry we never got an opportunity to come see you all at the lake. I remember the day Cindy and John got married. I can still see him driving up to the Carver Reunions on his motorcycle and taking the older cousins for a ride. He was in his glory, smiling from ear to ear. Always felt we had a close bond with our education in Career and Technical Education. He will be missed. Do keep in touch and May God bless each of you in the days ahead.

I came to know John Carver while I worked with his daughter, April, here in Tallahassee. We sat side by side at dance recitals, weddings and family gatherings. I did not know him well, but I could see clearly that he was a kind, generous man and he loved his kids and grandkids. I feel grateful to have met him and I know he will be dearly missed. Blessings and love to the extended family. Robyn
