Deborah Yvonne “Sister” Stone, age 72, of Eatonton, GA formerly of Greensboro passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at The Harbor at Harmony Crossing in Eatonton. Sister was born May 29, 1952 in Greensboro, GA to the late Walter Littleton “Pep” Stone and Geraldine Hussey “Geri” Stone. She received her education from Greene County High School and Athens Tech. Over the years she worked as a paralegal for several law offices and retired from the Law Office of Russell W. Wall, LLC. Sister enjoyed spending time at St. Simons and her cabin in the mountains. She also enjoyed walking, spending time with family and friends, and she had a great love for animals. She was a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church of Greensboro.
Survivors include her niece, Megan Jordan Green (Jason) of Eatonton, GA, nephew Jason “Scooter” Jordan (Hannah) of Good Hope, GA; sister, Kay Stone Von Alt of Monroe, GA; great nephew, Jase Green; great niece, Charlotte Green; great nephew, Zane Jordan; lifelong best friend, Paul Wages; aunt Fran Stone; cousins: Lori Badgett, Robin Isaacs, Vennie Walden, Wesley Walden (Brenda), Mary “Doll” Cronic (David) and Edna Ogletree; as well as a number of other relatives and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel in Greensboro with Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at the funeral home. The family requests that any memorials be made to Lake Oconee Humane Society, 1020 Park Avenue, Suite 101, Greensboro, GA 30642. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
