Yvonne Butler Waters 

Yvonne Butler Waters, age 75, of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Tampa, FL, on March 30, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Cubis and Mabel Butler.  She attended Springhead School and Mulberry School. She was a homemaker and helped her husband in the ministry. She was the most giving, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend that you would ever meet. She had a God given desire to serve others and lived a life that was an open book to what a Godly woman should be.  She married Kenneth Aren Waters on June 26, 1959 and lived in Florida until they moved to Greensboro eighteen years ago from Ocilla, GA. Out of this union they were blessed with five children.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro and the Agape, Amicus  Fidelis Sunday School Class.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Aren Waters in March of 2013 and two grandchildren.  She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Waters Patrick and husband Felix "Sam" of Greensboro, GA and Lisa Waters Chancey and husband Jeremy of Lithia, FL; three sons, Aren Waters and wife Vicky of Lexington, GA, Daniel and Joshua Waters both of Greensboro, GA; seven grandchildren, Christine Patrick Lockard, Felix Patrick, Jessie Waters, Haley Waters, Kendall Patrick, Cassie Waters, and Austin Chancey; a great grandchild, Kaelon Lockard; sister, Carolyn Earls of Mulberry Florida; brother, Cubis Wayne Butler, Sr. of Perry Florida; a number of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 203 S. Main Street, Greensboro, GA with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Penfield Cemetery, 1211 Cemetery Road, Penfield, GA 30669. Serving as pallbearers are Cubis Aren Waters, Daniel Wayne Waters, Joshua Cubis Waters, Steven Strozier, Eric Higdon,  Felix “Sam” Patrick, and Rick Hermann. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorials be made to Memorial Baptist Church (Attn: Alan Beck in Administration), 600 West Sterling Street, Baytown, Texas  77520 (for flood recovery).
