Arthur Wynn Cox, age 64, of White Plains, GA passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, GA. Born in Macon, GA on October 11, 1956, he was one of two sons born to the late Robert Earl Cox and Frankie Julia Allen Edwards. He married the former Brenda Brock on September 29, 2012. After a successful career with Rheem Manufacturing Company in Milledgeville, GA, he was a salesperson at the Bass & Antler Store in Milledgeville near Lake Sinclair. He was a member of the White Plains Baptist Church in White Plains, GA. He loved family, friends, hunting and fishing. Wynn was loved dearly and will truly be missed by all.
Wynn is survived by his wife Brenda Knight Cox of White Plains, GA. Also surviving are children, John Cox (Tiffany) and their children; Chris (Meagan), Shelby, Johnathan, Wendy and Shane of Haddock, GA, and Christy Burgess (Scott) and their children: Dain Burgess of Atlanta, GA, Jacob Burgess and Brandon Kinght both of Eatonton, GA; nephews, Daniel Cox (Emily) of Gray, GA, Corey Cox (Kimberly) and their children: Grayson and Rebecca of Savannah, GA and Brandon Cox (Skylar)and their child Joelyn; 2 great grandchildren; and his very dear friends, Tom Moore and Allen Collier; along with many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frankie Edwards; father, Jerry Edwards; brother, Gordon Cox; and grandchild, Micheal.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at White Plains Baptist Church, 1020 Main Street East, White Plains, GA 30678 with Rev. Lee Smith and Rev. Dennis Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the Eatonton Memorial Park, Godfrey Road, Eatonton, GA 31024. Serving as pallbearers are Casey Parker, Keith Edwards, Darryl Edwards, Marvin Bell, David Price and Ben Lanier. Honorary pallbearers will be the White Plains Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive friends Monday, June 28, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home. The family requests that any memorials may be made to Ethen Richardson Foundation.org.
