Wilma (Bonner) Jones

Wilma Bonner Jones, age  87, of Crawfordville, GA passed away at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital  Friday, October 29, 2021. She was born July 11, 1934, in Warrenton, GA to the late Thomas Jefferson Bonner and Florrie Shelton Bonner.  Wilma graduated from  Bloxom High School in 1952.  On February 14, 1953, she married  Andrew Gholston “Bay” Jones.  She enjoyed being a homemaker raising their four children and was very active in their school and any sports they played.  Wilma was a member of the Nathanael Greene Academy Grandparents Club. She enjoyed needlepoint and cooking, especially baking. 

Wilma  is survived by her children Andrew Richard  “Ricky” Jones (Bobbie) of  Greensboro, David Bonner Jones of Tybee Island and Donna Jones Adams (Chris) of Crawfordville;  sister Martha Passwaters; grandchildren:  Heather Jones Harper (Clark), Andrew Robert “Bay” Jones (Hattie), William Bonner Jones, Donna Marie Jones, Margo Adams Steelman (Ryan), Morgan Adams Boss (Wes) and  Mason Keith Gholston Adams; great grandchildren: Robert Withers “Gant” Darden IV, London McKenzie Darden, William Carter “Will” Harper, Walter Robert “Walt” Harper, Davis Keith Steelman, Walker David Steelman, Dallas Lynn Boss, and Peyton June Boss.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Gholston “Bay” Jones;  son, Robert Gholston “Rocky” Jones; sister, Evelyn Rhodes.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 02, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Crawfordville Baptist Church, 142 Memorial Drive, Crawfordville, GA 30631 with Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenview  Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642. Serving as pallbearers are David Dunagan, Jeff Thurmond, Paul Jackson, Stan Jackson, Ricky McCommons, Marc Richards, and Joey Rhodes. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Crawfordville Baptist Church  from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service. McCommons Funeral Home, 109  W.
