William Milton “Woody” Boone 

William Milton “Woody” Boone, formerly of Callahan, FL passed away in Athens, GA at St. Mary’s Hospital on Thursday July 9, 2020 surrounded by his family. He loved his wife and family.  He was 85.  He was born in Hialeah, FL on June 13, 1935 to the late Gilford Moore Boone and Verda Olivia Crews Boone.  He was a graduate of Winder Barrow High School and attended North Georgia College.  On August 30, 1958 he married Barbara Faulkner and they spent 62 happy years together.  During his working career he was the owner and operator of Danmar, Inc.  After  moving to Lake Oconee in 2007 and making his home at The Harbor Club he continued to work as the Starter at Cuscowilla Golf Course for thirteen years.  Playing golf was his favorite pastime and the Georgia Bulldogs was his favorite college football team.  

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Boone of Greensboro, GA; three sons, Mike Boone (Lisa) of Duluth, GA, Tommy Boone of Greensboro, GA and Gary Boone (Pam) of Smyrna, GA;  three grandchildren, Annabelle Boone, Matthew Boone and Lindsey McCoy (Eric); two great grandchildren, Miller McCoy and Cora McCoy; and many many friends.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Boone Crews.

A family memorial Service will be held Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel with Dr. Stephen Peeples officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Atlanta Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA  30346.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
