William Daniel Stephens, of Madison, GA, died on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the age of 28. Born on August 25, 1992 he was the son of Dennis Franklin Stephens, Sr. and Demmie Williams Stephens. He graduated from Morgan County High School in the class of 2010 where he played baseball and football. He was also class president in his junior year and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletics. He was a mason working with his father in the family business, Stephens Masonry. He was a member of West End Baptist Church of Greensboro. Daniel enjoyed hunting, shooting pool and riding horses. Daniel also enjoyed travelling especially rafting in the mountains and going to the beach.
Survivors include his mother Demmie Stephens of Madison, GA; his father, Dennis Stephens of Greensboro, GA; two brothers, Dennis Franklin “DJ” Stephens, Jr. (Jamee) and John Mark Hunt; sister, Amber Shelnutt; niece, Dakota Stephens; paternal grandmother, Rachel Glover; maternal grandmother, Elaine Williams; many other close relatives and friends as well as his beloved companion “Lily” his black lab of 11 years. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Thomas “Dee” Stephens and his maternal grandfather, Larry E. Williams.
Daniel loved his family more than anything, there will forever be an empty spot in all our hearts.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Robinson, Dr. John Darsey and the Hon. Brenda H. Trammell officiating. Justin Kennedy will contribute with song. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Shane Seabolt, Steve Rhoades, Jordan Ashurst, James Nail, Michael Meadow, Cameron Cartee, Justin Sherrill, and Jake Wagner. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
