William Chase Montgomery
William Chase Montgomery of Eatonton, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Macon, Georgia, Chase was a lifelong resident of Eatonton, Georgia. Chase had recently attended Georgia Southern University where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and was presently enrolled in Central Georgia Technical School. Prior to his college experience, Chase graduated from Gatewood School in 2012 where he was a nose guard on the football team. Chase was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Eatonton, Georgia. Scuba diving and reading were two of his favorite interests.
Chase is survived by his parents, Amey and Scott Montgomery and his sister, Sydney Montgomery of Eatonton, Georgia. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, David and Gayle Tidwell and his maternal grandmother, Andrea Harvill; his paternal grandfather, Allen Montgomery, and his paternal grandmother, Ann Montgomery, who also preceded Chase in death. Surviving aunts and uncles include Tish Montgomery, Paige (Jason) Powell, Allison Tidwell, and Andy Tidwell (Mark); Chase was survived by numerous other cousins, relatives, and friends.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 3:00 pm at Hallman Farms, 217 Tanyard Road, Eatonton, Georgia, with Van Nesbit officiating. The family requests that all memorials be made in memory of Chase Montgomery to Hunting for the Cure or Leukemia Research at Winship Cancer Institute, Office of Gift Records, Emory University, 1762 Clifton Road, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA. 30322.
