William "Bill" West Casey, Jr.

William West “Bill” Casey, Jr. age 81 of Greensboro, GA, passed away June 11, 2021 at his home on Lake Oconee, Greensboro, GA.  Bill was born September 16, 1939 in Kinston, NC to the late William West Casey, Sr. and Edna Mae Morton Casey.  He was a graduate of Granger High School in Kinston, NC and received a two year degree from Kennesaw State University.  On June 26, 1963 he married the former Rebecca Gray Cook and at the time of his death they had been married nearly fifty-eight years.  For six years he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam Era during the Bay of Pigs Invasion.  He was a true entrepreneur starting his own business in 1985 as the owner and operator of Becdon Steel Fabricating Company retiring in 2014.  Moving to Greensboro in 1994 he spent his last 26 years in the lake area, where he enjoyed playing cards, fishing and golfing with friends.  He was also a true “chocoholic”.  He was a member of Walker United Methodist Church and the Lake Oconee Elk’s Lodge #2849.  His three biggest loves in life were his family, God and country.

Bill is survived by his wife, Becky Casey of Greensboro, GA; sons, William Allen Casey of Boston, MA and Chris Eugene Casey of Atlanta, GA; and a number of other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by a brother, James Allen Casey and sister, Phyllis Mae Casey Davis.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. John Pike, Jr. officiating.  The family will receive friends after the service at a reception at the church.  The family requests any memorials be made to Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
