William (Bill) Patrick Boughner

William (Bill) Patrick Boughner, age 81, of Greensboro, GA was born on August 8, 1941 in Bad Axe, MI to the late Malcolm and Irene Casey Boughner.  He departed this life on February 13, 2023, in his home of 20 years on Lake Oconee, which he loved so much. He graduated from Mercer University in 1977. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era.  Bill married Miranda Konstandakis on July 25, 1971 and they made their home in Stockbridge, GA before moving to Lake Oconee in 2003.  For 29 years he worked for Delta Air Lines as a Senior Communications Analyst retiring in 1993. He was also a successful small business owner from 1985 to 2000.  

After moving to Greene County, Bill was an active member of the Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church where he served two terms as a Deacon.  Some of the hobbies he enjoyed were fishing, hunting, and writing.  He was a member of the Greensboro Writers Guild, wrote numerous short stories and for many years he wrote a weekly column “Bill Boughner’s View,” in the local newspaper. He was also an active member of the Oconee Anglers where he served on the executive committee for several years. Bill was passionate about and actively participated in several charitable causes, such as Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Bingo, and always volunteered where there was a need. 

Family always came first for Bill. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-one years, Miranda, and his two daughters, Kristi Latzak and Erica Livingstone. Kristi and her husband Jay have three sons, Luke, Charlie, and Jacob. Erica and her husband John have one son, Jackson. Papa Bill was dearly loved by all four of his grandchildren. Bill is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Selee and Bridget Quimby, both living in Michigan. 

A memorial service is planned for March 11th, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church, 113 Scott Road, Eatonton, GA 31024 with Rev.
