William Alvin Rhodes

William Alvin Rhodes, Sr., age 73, of Crawfordville, GA, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at  Augusta University Medical Center.  A native of Crawfordville, he was born on September 16, 1948 the son of the late Thomas Hinman Rhodes, Sr. and Essie Harrison Rhodes. He attended Alexander Stephens Institute in Crawfordville, GA and also went to school in Warrenton, GA.  On June 30, 1974 he married the former Connie Lynn Anderson.  He worked as a mechanic alongside his brother Herman at Rhodes Auto Parts in Crawfordville and retired in 2000.  Alvin was a member of Margarets Grove Baptist Church in Crawfordville, GA.
 
In addition to his wife of forty-seven years, Connie Rhodes of Crawfordville, Alvin is survived by a daughter, Susan Allison Rhodes of Norwood, GA; a son William Alvin Rhodes, Jr. of Crawfordville, GA; brothers, Herbert C. Rhodes, Sr. (Dorothy) and J. C. Rhodes, Sr. both of Crawfordville; sisters-in-law, Ruth Rhodes and Roberta Rhodes; and a number of nieces, nephews and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Rhodes, Jr., Herman Rhodes, Sr. and Hazel Rhodes Curtis.
 
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Margarets Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1791 Margarets Grove Road, Crawfordville, GA 30631 with Rev.
