William Page Obituary

William Michael “Bill” Page of Greensboro and Jewell, Georgia passed away in his home in Port Armor June 22. A memorial service was held in Greensboro on Friday, June 25, with several of his friends paying tribute to him and celebrating his life. Born in the Chicago area but moving to Georgia at age three, Bill spent his early years in South Georgia and attended high school in Madeira Beach, Florida. He attended Georgia Southern College and graduated from Georgia State University. His business career included years as a labor negotiator and a manufacturing executive and he retired in 1999 as Senior Vice President of Operations for Coach Leatherware in New York City. Bill’s lifelong passions were golf and movies. He and his wife, Marti Edwards, also enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques and attending UGA women’s gymnastics meets. They recently purchased a farm in Jewell, Georgia, where Bill built a workshop and started new hobbies of wood working, clearing land and moss and fern gardening. He loved sharing his new riverwalk trails with his friends and especially with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Martha Ellen “Marti” Edwards; daughters, Jennifer Pittman and Tamara “Tami” Yates; son, Michael Chance Page; and grandchildren, Victoria Blankenship, Hannah Pittman, Samantha Faith, and James, Camden, Ethan and Helen Page. Memorials may be made to Jewell Baptist Church Old Schoolhouse Fund, Hamburg State Park Road, Jewell, GA 31045. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
