James Warner “Tiny” Hunt, age 84, of Watkinsville, GA, died Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Piedmont Athens Regional. Born in Greensboro on August 7, 1937 he was the son of the late Reginald Samuel Hunt and Mildred Doris Copelan Hunt. Warner graduated from Greensboro High School. For twenty-one years he worked as a milk truck driver for the Veazey Brothers and was also a dairy farmer in the Walker Church community and Quality Block as a salesman. He was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church. He was happiest when he was cooking BBQ, telling stories or riding on the wagon train.
In addition to his parents, Rex and Mildred Hunt, he was preceded in death by a brother, R. B. Hunt and a sister, Lina Belle Sherrer. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Black Hunt of Watkinsville, GA; daughters, Sandy Maxwell (Charles) of Bishop, GA and Wanda Garza (Arnold) of Covington, GA; step-daughter, Barbara Martin of Watkinsville, GA; step-son, Bennie Burgess(Rhonda) of Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren: Valerie Matheson (Michael), Michael Lanier (Miranda), Ashley Waldroup (David), Matthew Maxwell (Brianna) Ben Burgess, Blaze Burgess (Avery) Christopher Martin (Nicole),Celina Garza, Christopher Garza (Malissa);19 great grandchildren; nephews, nieces and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 12:00 noon at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Jimmy Edwards and Rev. Howard Conine officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Lanier, Matthew Maxwell, Hunter Waldroup, Benjamin Burgess, Blaze Burgess, Christopher Martin, The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
