Wanda Kay Dingler

Wanda Kay Dingler, age 49, of Union Point, GA, died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Athens Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Wanda was born July 10, 1962 at Minnie G. Boswell Hospital in Greensboro to Nancy Lindsey Callaway of Union Point, GA and the late Charles James Dingler. She attended Greene County High School, married Ronald Steve Walker and moved to Covington, GA. While in Covington, she worked at Ellington''s Store and when she returned to Greensboro worked in the meat market at Bilo until it closed. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point, GA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Steve Walker in 2002. In addition to her mother, Nancy Lindsey Callaway of Union Point, GA, she is survived by a daughter, Lindsey Kay Walker of Union Point, GA; a son, James Derek Walker of Union Point, GA; two sisters, Charlotte Peters and husband Joey of Monroe, GA and Tina Edwards and husband Joseph of Silver Springs, FL; three brothers, Wayne Callaway of Panama City, FL, Tracy Callaway of Greensboro, GA and Terry Callaway of Loganville, GA; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Lovin and Rev. Brenda Vandiver officiating. Interment will follow in the Wisteria Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at Callaway Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Elbert Goss, Jr., Tyler Peters, Steven Peters, Jason Dingler, Nick Jordan and Dwayne Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Lindsey, Jay Lindsey and Sam Marshall.
