Walter Solowynsky died Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Savannah Court of Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA, He had been a resident of Greensboro since 2013 moving from Manville, NJ. Born July 20, 1928 in South Plainfield, NJ he was one of five children born to the late John and Elizabeth Wisniewski Solowynsky. He graduated from North Plainfield High School and attended Rutgers University. While living in Manville he was a member of Sacred Heart Church where he served as head usher. Walter enjoyed baseball and played in the semi pros when he was younger. The Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Mets were two of his favorite teams. He also enjoyed singing.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Solowynsky; grandson, Philip Subacz; and siblings, Jacob Solowynsky, John Solowynsky, Ann Kalasin and Sophie House. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa and husband Lawrence John Subacz of Greensboro, GA; two grandchildren, Jonathan L. Subacz (Kimberly) and Cristie Subacz; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, William and Charlotte Subacz.
The family will hold a Mass at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church at a later date. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hillsborough, New Jersey.
