Walter Donald Branyan

Walter Donald “Don” Branyan of Bishop, GA died Friday, November 18, 2016 at his residence.   He was 64.  A native of Greene County he was born November 7, 1952 in Greensboro, GA to the late Oles Dee Branyan and Bernice Estelle Cook Branyan Ruff.  He graduated from Greene County High School and attended the University of Georgia.  He married the former Deborah German of Athens, GA on May 7, 1978.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He worked for Athens Tire and Supply for eighteen years until they closed.  After that he worked for The Home Depot for four years as a Power Specialist.  He took great joy in tinkering and getting something to run.  He also enjoyed shooting guns.  Don grew up in Woodville and was a member of Woodville Baptist Church.  

In addition to his wife, Deborah Branyan of Bishop, GA, he is survived by  a son, Jonathan Branyan (Mary Beth) of Hull, GA; a daughter, Stephanie Piscitelli (John) of Watkinsville, GA; two sisters, Joann Whitten of O’Fallon, IL and Cindy B. Sellers of Athens, GA; two brothers, Keith Branyan of Woodville, GA, and Randy Branyan of Greensboro, GA six grandchildren, Lily, Josh, Rylie Grace and Knox Piscitelli and Sawyer Kate and Colton Branyan; number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Flossie Burns; brothers, W. G. “Dub” Branyan and Billy Wayne Branyan.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodville Baptist Church, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E, Woodville, GA 30669 with Rev. Mark Yearwood officiating.  Burial was in the Woodville Cemetery, 1110 Hickory Circle, Woodville, GA 30669.  Serving as pallbearers were Matt Branyan, Tim Branyan, Pat Branyan, Phillip Cannon, Ron Epperson and Zach McCoy.  The family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at Woodville Baptist Church.  The family request that any memorials be made to the Veterans Charity of your choice.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
