W. C. Sisson

W. C. Sisson, age 92, of Greensboro, GA passed away Friday, July 15, 2022.  He was born July 5, 1930, in Union Point, GA to the late James Thomas Sisson and Katie Lee Davis Sisson.  W.C. grew up in Union Point and graduated from Union Point High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  On January 28, 1955, he married the former Eddie Lee Chandler of Greensboro, GA.  For many years he was the owner and operator of Caldwell Laundry.  After leaving the laundry, he started Sisson’s Coin Laundry and continued to operate it as long as his health permitted. W.C. enjoyed watching westerns, especially the ones with John Wayne. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro.

In addition to his wife Eddie Lee Sisson, he is survived by his sons, Wayne Sisson (Tina) of Greensboro, GA, Jon Sisson (Laura) of Bishop, GA, and  Bill Sisson of Greensboro, GA;  grandchildren Amanda Churchwell, Hope Beasley, Emilee Sisson, Jonathon Sisson, Jacob Sisson, Haley Sisson, Riley Sisson and Leila Sisson; great grandchildren:  Kyle Churchwell, Kaylee Churchwell, Brantley Beasley, Brody Beasley, Abel Sisson and Piper Webb. In addition to his parents, W.C. was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Sisson and Weldon Sisson.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Wayne Usry and Rev. Tracy Miller officiating.  Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathon Sisson, Jr., Richard Tolbert, Danny Beasley, Alfred Chandler, Jeff Cook and Thom McGibony. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at McCommons Funeral Home.  Interment will be at the Greensboro City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.
