W. G. Branyan, 60, of Woodville, GA died Thursday, November 14, 2002. Born September 26, 1942 in Greene County, he was the son of the late Oles Dee Branyan and Bernice Estelle Cook Branyan. He attended Union Point High School and was Vice President and General Manager at the Greene County Country Club. W. G. served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1982 during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War and had lived in Woodville for the past thirteen years.
He is survived by one son, William Kenneth Branyan of Astoria, NY; two sisters, Joann Whitten of Woodville, GA and Cindy B. Sellers of Greensboro, GA; and four brothers, Billy Branyan of Union Point, GA, Keith Branyan of Warner Robins, GA, Randy Branyan of Greensboro, GA and Donald Branyan of High Shoals, GA.
Graveside Services will be held Sunday, November 17, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodville Cemetery in Woodville, GA with Ray Sellers and Rev. Chris Redman officiating. Active pallbearers will be the Board of Directors of the Greene County Country Club, David Thornton, Larry Moore, Eddie Lawson, Jeffery Smith, Larry Smith, Trey Rhodes, Benjie Bryant and Jack Bennett. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday night at the Funeral Home.
