Virginia Carol Myron “Ginny” Wetzstein, age 72, of Eatonton, GA passed away Monday, May 20, 2024 at her residence. Born on December 20, 1951 in Fargo, North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Walter Clair and Emma Marion Opdahl Myron. Ginny married Michael Rae Wetzstein in September of 1977 in Fargo, North Dakota. Having lived in Eatonton for the last three years, they moved here from Arlington, Texas. She was a member of the Catholic Church of Saint Mary the Virgin and more recently attended Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro.
In addition to her husband Mike of Eatonton, Georgia, she is survived by her children, Angie Vaughan (Christopher) of Irving, Texas and James Wetzstein (Dana) of Covington, Georgia; grandchildren, Gage Wetzstein of Statham, Georgia, Bailey Wetzstein of Athens, Georgia, Grace Vaughan, Isaac Vaughan, Noah Vaughan, Jacob Vaughan, Lily Vaughan and Cana-Marie Vaughan all of Irving, Texas; sister-in-law, Donna Myron of Northfield, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Myron.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, Georgia 30642 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Adam Blatt officiating, followed by a reception in the church’s Sacred Heart Social Hall.
