Viola Meadows Epps

Viola Meadows Epps, age 91, of Union Point, Georgia, died on Friday, April 17, 2009 at Gibson Health and Rehab Center in Gibson, GA. Born April 12, 1918 in Oglethorpe County she was the only daughter of eleven children born to the late Cicero Meadows and Annie Mae McIntyre Meadows. She retired as a winder from Chipman Union Manufacturing in Union Point and was a member of the Union Point Worship Center.

Mrs. Epps is survived by two daughters, Betty Epps Scoggins of Washington, GA and Doris Epps Maltby of La Habra, CA; four brothers, Hoyt Meadows of Eagle Lake, FL, Harold Meadows of Kathleen, GA, R. B. Meadows of Monroe, GA and J. T. Meadows of Union Point, GA; eight grandchildren, Freda Adams, Penny Netherton, Lauren Maltby, Jessica Maltby, Michelle McGowan, C. C. Epps, Rocky Epps and "Sissy" Epps; twelve great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Epps, Jr. and Cecil Epps; and six brothers, Wayman Meadows, Willie Meadows, Carl Meadows, Mack Meadows, Frank Meadows Sr. and Rev. Otis Meadows Sr.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Union Point Worship Center with Rev. Dennis Mitchell and Rev. Frank Meadows, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Netherton, Tim Meadows, Mike Meadows, Barry Meadows, Joe Meadows and Randy Meadows.
