Vickie McClain Obituary

Vickie Stewart McClain, 50, of Greensboro, GA, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at St. Mary''s Hospice House in Bogart. Born on September 20, 1957 in Winston-Salem, NC, she was the daughter of Frances Ennis Stewart of Lugoff, SC and the late W. M. Stewart. In 1975 she graduated from Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, NC and in 1978 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She taught second grade for two years at Harnett County Elementary School. In 1982 she moved to Greene County and was co-owner of Granite Shoals Marina. She was a true hostess who always greeted you with a pleasant smile and a kind word. Entertaining was her life and she enjoyed every minute socializing and spending time with friends, dancing, telling jokes, reading and walking on the beach. Her southern charms endeared her to all her friends. In 2005 she sold Granite Shoals Marina.

In addition to her mother, Frances Ennis Stewart, she is survived by a daughter, Stevie McClain of Atlanta, GA; sister, Sheila Hooper and husband Dave of Mercersburg, PA; brother, Steve Stewart and wife Jean of Charlotte, NC; niece, Lizzie Hooper of Mercersburg, PA and close friend, Bob "Pop Pop" Keyes of Lugoff, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
