Thomas "Gene" Eugene Lundy

Thomas Eugene “Gene” Lundy, a resident of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born in Union Point, GA, on November 6, 1938, Gene was the son of the late Thomas Watson Lundy and Margaret Hopkins Lundy. He spent his formative years in Union Point and graduated from Union Point High School. He pursued higher education at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, earning a degree in engineering, and later earned a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California.

On May 31, 1962, Gene married Pamela Tucker in Fullerton, CA. He began his professional career in Southern California, working as an Aerospace Engineer with Rockwell Aerospace from 1962 to 1974, where he contributed to the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs. He then relocated to Huntsville, AL, where he continued his distinguished career with Lockheed, working on missile defense systems, and retired in May of 1999 after decades of dedicated service.

Twenty-six years ago, Gene and Pamela moved to Greensboro, GA. After retirement, Gene loved living on Lake Oconee, where he enjoyed gardening, fishing, chopping wood, and playing tennis. He was also an active member of Lake Oconee Tennis and treasured the friendships he formed within the community.

Gene’s memory is cherished by his wife of more than 63 years, Pamela Jean Lundy of Greensboro, GA; his son, Dale Eric Lundy, and his wife, Christy Lundy, of Waxhaw, NC; his daughter, Erin Patricia Lundy of Pooler, GA; his brother, Larry Frank Lundy of McCormick, SC; and his beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth Camille Lundy and Gatlin Zane Lundy. He is also survived by other relatives and many good friends.
