Thomas Sherman Meads, Jr.

On January 8, 2023, Thomas Sherman Meads, Jr. of Buckhead, GA, beloved husband and son, passed away at the age of 68.  Born in Portsmouth, VA, he was the eldest child of Kay Frances Hight Meads and the late Thomas Sherman Meads, Sr. Tom graduated from Stone Mountain High School.  On April 18, 1992 he married Gail LeGoff his wife of thirty years. Tom had a long and successful career in real estate. After moving to Buckhead more than thirty-eight years ago he joined Drake Realty Lake Area as a Realtor. His interests included golfing, fishing, hunting, croquet and polo. He was also a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and was a talented painter. Tom was a member of Union Chapel Methodist Church and a founding member of Lake Oconee Elks Lodge #2849.

Besides his mother, Kay Frances Hight Meads, he is survived by his loving wife, Gail Meads of Buckhead, GA; sister, Cathy Rhine of Raleigh, NC and many close friends.  He is also survived by his beloved cats, Sunshine, Willie, Pearl and Starlight.  Preceding him in death was his father, Thomas Meads, Sr.; brother, Ricky Meads and sister, Beth Lipko.  Tom will be missed by so many.

A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at the Elk’s Lodge, Ste. 2070, 1116 Lake Oconee Pkwy, Eatonton, GA 31024  on Sunday, January, 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Any memorials may be made to Circle of Friends Animal Society, P.
