Thomas Jefferson Henry, Jr.

Thomas Jefferson Henry, Jr. age 69 of Union Point, GA, died at his residence with his family on Monday, May 1, 2023.  He was born on November 6, 1953, in Marietta, GA, to the late Thomas Jefferson Henry, Sr. and Mary Coppedge Henry. He was raised in Marietta and graduated from Wills High School.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.  On June 15, 1991 he married the former Susan Michelle Murphy of Union Point, GA. Tommy worked at the Ritz Carlton in maintenance and also worked ten years for Reynolds Plantation. Then he worked for Novelis as a security guard before he had to retire because of his health. He thoroughly enjoyed working with wood and could make just about anything.  He attended Celebration Church in Greensboro and in the past sang in The First Baptist Church Choir both in Union Point and Greensboro.
 
Survivors include his wife, Susan Michelle Henry of Union Point, GA; a son, Thomas Alton Henry of Union Point, GA sisters, Eva Callaway and Alice Bell; mother-in-law, Ann Murphy of Greensboro, GA; other relatives and many friends. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and  sisters, Patsy Henry and Ann Clackum.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Wisteria Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Chaplain Darin Hyer officiating.  The family will receive friends at Callaway Funeral Home from 12:30 until time for the service.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
