Theodore L. Kinne, LTC US Army

Theodore L. Kinne, LTC US Army (Ret), passed peacefully into heaven on Sept 15, 2025 at the age of 90 in Union Point, GA. He is survived by his loving children, Michelle Meekins (Sonny) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Scott Kinne (Brenda) of Greensboro, GA; four grandchildren: Samantha Kay (Ian), Tyler Kinne (Alexa), Evan Meekins and Jared Meekins; and a sister Betty Bates, and brother-in-law Gary Scofield (Bonnie). He is predeceased by his dear wife Marlys Kinne, and his parents Marianne and Marvin Kinne, and a sister Connie Foley.

Ted was born in Raymond, SD, raised on a farm in Corning, Iowa, graduated the University of Iowa (go Hawkeye’s!), made a career in the Army and afterwards as a VP of Interstate Natural Gas Association, survived two tours in Vietnam, and enjoyed a long retirement in Hertford, NC playing golf and bridge and traveling the world, before moving to GA to be near his son. He was a proud Mayflower descendant, an avid Redskins fan, and loved American History….always the smartest person in the room and the best Trivial Pursuit partner! He will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to thank Greene Point Rehab and Affinis Hospice for their care of Ted. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
