Thelma Park Turner

Thelma Park Turner, 91, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Willow Run Retirement Home. Born January 28, 1912 in Troup County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Park and Othella Jackson Park. She graduated from Hogansville High School and in 1987 retired as a bookkeeper from Fallaize Insurance Company in Norcross, GA. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA and had lived in Greensboro since 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Marmaduke Turner. She is survived by a son, Edward Park Turner and wife Vivian of Greensboro, GA; and two granddaughters, Debra Robinson and husband Rhett of Metter, GA and Kim Jester and husband Will of Arlington, GA; one great grandson, Luke Jester; and one great granddaughter, Ashley Robinson.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery in Sandy Springs, GA with Rev. Rick Maeser officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be made to Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
