Thelma Patterson Jones

Thelma Patterson Jones, age 96, of Greensboro, Georgia died on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Rainbow Retirement Facility in Arnoldsville, GA. Born in Lula, GA in Hall County on March 10, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Robert Bascomb Patterson and Estella Elizabeth Jones Patterson. She attended Putnam County High School and worked for Lena Hy Garment Company as a seamstress and Vantress Farms as a vaccinator. She was a member of Walker United Methodist Church in Greensboro. Mrs. Jones was very artistic and passed down the love of art and music to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Stella Faye Jones Burt and husband L.D. of Fort Payne, AL, Reba Joyce Jones Walker and husband Thad of Milledgeville, GA, Thelma June Jones and husband Neil of Rayle, GA; one son, Henry Donald Jones of Milledgeville, GA; 26 grandchildren; many great and great, great grandchildren; a number of other relatives and friends; and her beloved dog, Dale. In addition to her husband, Henry Grady Jones, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jones Kimbrough; and three sons, Robert Wayne Jones, Phillip Grady Jones and Thomas Patterson Jones.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Walker United Methodist Church with Rev. John Pike and Alex Burt officiating. Interment will follow at Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642. Serving as pallbearers are Alex Burt, John Moon, Joey Jones, Stacey Jones, Robert Kimbrough, Henry Jones and Perry Jones. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time for the service at Walker United Methodist Church. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
