Teresa Leah (Byrum) Lilly

Teresa Leah Byrum Lilly, of Greensboro, GA formerly of Hartwell, GA, died on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at her home after a lengthy illness, at the age of 58. Born in Patterson, NJ on June 8, 1964, she was the daughter of George Herman Byrum and Linda Gail Case Byrum. She met Paul Lilly, Jr. in Hartwell when she was a caregiver of the same patient that he was taking to dialysis every week.  She moved to Greene County and joined the Liberty Fire Department, and took the required courses to become a first responder and a support firefighter.  She advanced to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and was placed in charge of making sure all the paperwork was done.  Unable to have children of her own, she treated her stepson as hers. On December 12, 2015 she married Paul Lilly at the  Liberty Fire Department. She dearly loved working the tractor pulls with her husband.  She was a wonderful wife and mother and will truly be missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband Paul Lilly, Jr. she is survived by her son, Paul Lilly III and mother-in-law, Joyce Lilly along with many, many friends.

Family and friends will gather at Liberty Fire Department on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate the life of Teresa.
