Tammy Marie (Alexander) Johnson

Tammy Marie Alexander Johnson of Union Point, GA wife of Chris and mother of Loren, Elodie and Mitchell, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, August 16, 2020 at the age of 49.  Tammy was born in Sparta, GA to the late John Loren and Glenda June Wiggins Alexander. She attended Hiwassee College in Tennessee and married Christopher George Johnson on February 17, 2001.  Tammy worked with ResCare, Inc  in Eatonton, GA with home healthcare. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point where Chris was the associate pastor and together they served as the youth and children’s pastor.  Tammy loved working with the elderly and with animals.

She is also survived by her sister, Rhonda Alexander; brother James “Jimmy” Alexander; nieces and nephews and many children that she adopted.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2020  at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Union Point, 206 Thornton Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Marc Lhowe, Rev. Jimmy Long and Rev. Marion Clark officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669.  Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Lhowe, Aaron Peters, Zach Hagan, Noah Ward, Logan Scott, Andrew Marshall, Dre Chapman and Quan Benford.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Union Point beginning at 10:00 AM.  An expense fund has been set up in the name of THE FAMILY OF TAMMY JOHNSON at BankSouth at the Greensboro office, 200 N.
