Stella Lee (Chapman) Firster

    Stella Lee Chapman Firster also known as “Stella Chapman” of Union Point, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at her residence at the age of 79.  Stella was born in Sparta, GA on July 21, 1943, the daughter of the late Robert and Betty Harrison Chapman.  She graduated from Union Point High School in June of 1961 and Athens Business College in June of 1962. She also graduated from Walterboro School of Practical Nursing in Walterboro, S.C. graduating in 1977.  Over the years she was employed by Hampton County Hospital  In Hampton, S.C., Allendale County Hospital In Fairfax, S.C., worked in a physician’s office  part-time and in 1990 relocated to Atlanta.  After moving to Georgia she continued her work as an LPN at King Springs Village of Gwinnett, Northside Comprehensive Care Center, Windward Nursing Home and retired from New London Health Care. She grew up in Union Point and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point. Seven years ago she moved from Lilburn back to Union Point.
    Survivors include five sons: Baron Firster (Becky) of Warner Robins, Kevin Firster (Anita) of Hampton, SC, Mark Firster (Kelly) of Villa Rica, GA, Michael Firster of Union Point, GA, Danny Firster (Sheila) of Athens, GA; grandchildren: Kelley Firster, Amber Firster, Bret Firster, Ryan Firster, Kaylen Weekly, Emily Firster, Allan Firster, Thomas Firster, Nicholas Firster, Tyler Firster, Paisley Firster, Lincoln Firster, Lisa Green, Patience Firster, Ashley Firster, Adrienne Nettles, Casey Firster, Emily Firster, Lonnie Firster and Marcie Firster.
    A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at Callaway Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Marc Lhowe officiating.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
