Shirley Joyce (Miller) Felts

Shirley Joyce Felts, of Greensboro GA, died September 20, 2021, at the age of 87. Born in Atlanta, GA on August 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Margaret Miller. Shirley graduated from Russell High School in East Point, Georgia in 1951.  On August 8, 1952, Shirley married the love of her life, Marion Felts, Sr.  Marion and Shirley were married for 64 years when he died on March 22, 2017.  During her younger years she worked in the Colonial Stores Administrative Office and later worked for the Cobb County Board of  Education as office secretary and librarian.  

She was not only a wife but was an awesome wife of a minister.  She always stood by and supported Rev. Felts in his ministry no matter where God sent him including several trips to Mexico as a missionary.  She was a homemaker, wonderful mom that held down the fort with three teenagers, while Rev. Felts was working full time and attending Bible college. Shirley loved the Lord, her family, and working in her yard with plants and doing crafts.  She was an awesome mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and  even great great grandmother which she loved and loved spending time with and cooking for all her children.  Shirley always put others before herself and was willing to help anyone in need.  She gave the best hugs, advice and was a great cook.

Shirley is survived by her children, Rhonda Felts Wigley and husband Tony, Renee Felts Garrett and husband Barry and Marion Edgar “Eddie” Felts and wife Ginger; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; a number of other relatives, and many friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Charlotte Ponder and Sherry Sprayberry.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Madison Christian Church, 1871 Atlanta Highway, Madison, GA  30650 with Minister Cory Thomas and Rev. Allan Thames officiating.  Graveside will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park, 6841 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro, GA 30236.  Serving as pallbearers are Jason King, Shane Felts, Nathan Felts, Jevon Herbert, Tyler Yeager, and Keith Kidd.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at Madison Christian Church.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
