Shane Andrew Roberts, age 26, of Madison, Georgia, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016.  Shane was born on March 22, 1990 in Hoffman Estates, IL, the son of Devera Sasser Roberts and Edward Ollen Roberts II.  He grew up in Pooler, GA where he attended elementary and middle school.  After moving to Greene County in 2005, Shane attended Greene County High School and earned his GED diploma.  Over the years, he worked for Yesterday Cafe, Rock Solid, Benning Construction, a2b Fullfillment Company, and the Georgia Department of Transportation.  At the time of his death, he was working for Brand Vaughan Lumber Company in Madison as a truck driver.  In his spare time, his hobbies consisted of: rock climbing, roller blading, fishing, hunting, basketball, video games, and almost anything else that meant he could go at mock speed such as his love of motorcycles. His passion for music started early, learning the drums at age 5 and later playing the guitar. Music came as natural as breathing to him, and he transported you above the clouds each time he played. His main focus in life was being a great father to Addie and Jayden and also a great life partner to Kristina Sidwell.  He loved taking Jayden hunting and fishing, and escorting Addie to a father-daughter dance. Shane had a tremendous love of his family, and he also loved serving his church family. He was an active member of Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church in Bostwick, GA where he loved serving wherever he was asked. Shane was such a compassionate person and full of life so much that when he hugged you, the tightness of his embrace made you feel his deep love for you, and his smile melted your heart every time. Wherever he went, his infectious personality and sense of humor touched everyone's heart. You couldn't help but be affected by his carefree spirit.

In addition to his mother, Devera Roberts and her partner Erin Lundy; his father, Rocky Roberts and his wife Amanda, he is survived by his children, Jayden Andrew Roberts (his mother, Kimberly Roberts) and Addie Roseman; her mother and his fiance, Kristina Sidwell; his sister, Savannah Nicole Roberts; a number of other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hinton Ellis Sasser and Sherry Bazemore Sasser.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church, 1041 Church Street, Bostwick, GA 30621 with Rev. John Autry officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Middle Ground Baptist Church Cemetery, 259 Middle Ground Church Road, Sylvania, GA 30467.  Serving as pallbearers are Anthony Dowd, Brad Vaughn, Myles Lamb, Scott Moss, Ricky Perry, and Jonathan Jones. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church.
