Scott William Hansen, age 62, of Greensboro, GA died Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at The Glen at Lake Oconee Village in Greensboro. Born in New Orleans, LA on December 23, 1958, he was the son of the late Philip Waldemar Hansen and Clorieta Gale Hansen.
Scott graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School in Louisiana. He later attended Louisiana State University for his undergraduate degree and MBA before completing his studies at Oklahoma State University, earning a PhD in Marketing. His career was spent as a college professor, most recently at Western Illinois University. After more than 20 years of teaching he moved to Georgia to be closer to his brother, finally settling in Greene County 4 years ago. Among other things Scott loved collecting coins, looking at cars, and was an avid LSU/New Orleans Saints sports fan.
Survivors include his children, Austin Philip Hansen of Riverside, CA and Amber Hansen of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Brett Hansen of Greensboro, GA and sister, Sara Hansen of New Orleans, LA.
The family will hold a celebration of his life on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11a.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 West Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Alec Ward officiating.
