Scott Alan Garrison Sr. of Sparta, Georgia departed this earth to his Heavenly Home on January 18th, 2024 at Piedmont Main Hospital in Macon, Georgia. His beloved family was at his bedside. He was 65 years old, having been born on August 13th, 1958 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He grew up in West Virginia with his two brothers Mark and Mike. He was the son of the late Charles Robert Garrison and Judith Ann Mayeres Garrison.

Scott and his two brothers enjoyed growing up in West Virginia. They went fishing at the early age of five and were once photographed fishing off a bridge which later won a photography contest and was featured in the local paper. Scott also enjoyed building custom bicycles with his brothers and later, as a teen, shooting pool and forming a bowling team named The Garrison Gorillas Team. Scott played drums in his high school band which led to forming a band. His love for playing drums continued all his life.

In 1977, Scott graduated from John Marshall High School in Glenn Dale, West Virginia. After graduation, he followed generations before him and his older brother Mark in joining the United States Navy as Yeoman First Class Petty Officer. Younger brother Michael joined after graduation as well. Scott served his country for the next eleven years at the Charleston, South Carolina Navy Base. Scott continued in his Navy career to teach sailing at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. During Scotts Navy career he married Kelly Lee Albert and she and he were parents of two children,Scott Alan Garrison Jr and Holly Beth Garrison.

Scott married Vonda Carol Colyer on July 27th, 2006. Scott and Vonda went on to join The Brotherhood of Jesus Christ Motorcycle Ministry which led to becoming founding members of The Building Worship Center in Augusta, Georgia which was started by The B.O.J.C. Scott was a skilled carpenter building houses in the Augusta area at this time. This came in handy in the actual construction of the original church site and also in crafting beautiful wooden tables, a large wooden cross, prayer kneeler, communion boxes, memory boxes, pulpits as well as custom decks and stairs.

Scott has worked as a valued and loved employee of the Ginn Mineral Technology family in Sandersville Georgia for the past 17 years. He and Vonda moved to Sparta, Georgia in May of 2019. Scott volunteered in many areas of Sparta. He volunteered to help the Hancock Animal Friends Rescue. He assisted in the Hancock County Elections as well as serving as a board member of the Sparta Development Committee and worked hard toward Sparta's growth and improvement. Scott was a 30-year member of the American Legion and served as Chaplain of Hancock County American Legion.

In addition to his wife Vonda C Garrison of 17 years, he is survived by his children Holly Beth Garrison Thompson and husband Thomas of Beverly, West Virginia. Scott Alan Garrison Jr and his wife Courtney of Urbana, Ohio. and stepson Kristopher James Bowen of Augusta, Georgia. Scott also took into his and Vonda's lives and assisted in launching them into life, son-in-love Trysten Phillips of Ashville North Carolina, and daughter-in-love Jaime Lee Robles and husband Ito of Harlem, Georgia.

Scott is also survived by his two brothers Mark Anthony Garrison and his wife Belinda as well as Michael Charles Garrison all of Summerville, South Carolina. Surviving grandchildren are Makayla, and Blayne Thompson, as well as Aaralyn, Aryah, Axton and Abel Garrison, and Rosalee Robles. Stepgrands are Emily Lauber, Noah, and Graham Bowen.  Step-greatgrands are Marlia, Mahria, and Lilith Lauber. Surviving nieces and nephews are Christopher Allen Garrison and Amber Joy Garrison, as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins too numerous to list. Also, his precious fur babies, Zuki Little Bit and Trouble.

Scott was Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Pops, Papa, and friend. He was much loved by many. He was a freedom-loving Patriot and most importantly, he was a Spirit-filled, Jesus follower and a God and Country Loving man whose shoes will be hard to fill. He will be so missed but we will meet again in that Heavenly home.

The family will hold a Memorial Service and Going Home Celebration on Saturday, January 27th at The Building Worship Center at Bayvale, 2240 Bayvale Rd, Augusta, Georgia. Visitation 10am-11am with service to follow 11am-12pm. A Lunch will be provided donated by The Brotherhood of Jesus Christ Motorcycle Ministry and The Building Worship Center. A later Graveside and Memorial Service will be held in the late spring of 2024 at Upland Cemetery in Rayland, Ohio 43943.
