Obituary

Sally Williams Sorrow, 88, of Union Point, GA, passed away, Monday, November 14, 2022 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA.  Born in Stephens, GA on December 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late James Williams and Susie Mae Perry Williams.  She worked several jobs over the years but retired from Union Point Elementary School as part of the cafeteria staff.  She graduated from school in Oglethorpe County and was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point.  Other than her family, there was nothing she enjoyed more than working in her yard.  It always looked manicured and she loved to sit on her porch and enjoy her beautiful flowers.

Sally is survived by her children, Lynn Sorrow, Lisa Shuman and Tommy Sorrow; siblings, Polly Godbee, Mamie Greeson, Wade Williams (Debra) and Walt Williams; grandchildren, Steve Shuman (BreAnna), Scott Shuman (Crystal) and Tate Sorrow, great grandchildren, Taylor Shuman, Nathan Shuman, Rilyn Lamar, Jeremiah Shuman, and Jaxson Shuman. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Wray and Hilda Williams and her son-in-law, Randy Shuman.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Any memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association . Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N. Rhodes St., Union Point, GA, 30669 (706) 486-4104, is in charge of arrangements. Visit us at www.mccommonsfuneralhome.com to sign the online guest register.
