Sallie Mae Gheesling Seals

Sallie Mae Gheesling Seals, age 88, of Stockbridge, GA, formerly of White Plains, GA died Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge. She was born in Hancock County on December 9, 1915 to the late Hubert A. Gheesling and Nellie Clyde Barnes Gheesling. She was a graduate of Greensboro High School and a member of Powelton Baptist Church. Most of her life she was a homemaker, but had worked in the lunchroom at Sparta High School for two years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Ney Seals, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Linda S. East and husband Jesse Leo East, Sr. of Stockbridge, GA; two sisters, Myrtle Walker of Union Point, GA and Clarice Perry of Loganville, GA; three grandchildren, Jerry Wilkerson of Birmingham, AL, Jesse East, Jr. and wife Rita of Locust Grove, GA and Cindy Justice and husband Charles of Hampton, GA; and five great grandchildren, Jessica East, Christopher East, Amanda East, Kelsie East and Zachary East.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Dr. Archie Norman and Rev. Dr. Norman Waldrip officiating. Burial will follow at Powelton Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Eley, Larry Veazey, Barry Walker, Jerry Wilkerson and Jesse East.
