Ruth (Dover) Wood

Ruth Dover Wood, age 92, of Greensboro, Georgia died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens. Ruth was born July 19, 1929 in Winterville, GA to the late Leroy Thomas Dover of Habersham County and Holly Ann Fleeman Dover of Oglethorpe County. She attended school in Maxey’s, GA and was a member of Maxey’s Christian Church. Over the years she worked for Alma Raincoat in Washington, GA, Union Manufacturing in Union Point, GA, Mary Leila Cotton Mill in Greensboro, GA and Jefferson Mill in Crawford, GA. 

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Bryan of Greensboro, GA and Carleen Taylor of Greensboro, GA; a son Ronnie Wood (Connie) of Greensboro, GA; grandchildren: Carolyn Cates, Jason Bryan, Leigh Ann Thompson, Michael Wood, Jeremy Bryan, Tonya Chambliss and Beth Hall;  numerous great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Wood; son, Waymon Thomas Wood; great grandson, Brandon Thompson; siblings, Annie Lou Lyle, Ruby Lee Gunn, Guy Dover, J. T. Dover, Bishop Dover, Doris Burt and Mae Moore.
