Rosaria Pirone Nessine

Rosaria Pompei Pirone "Rose" Nessine, age 80, of Eatonton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Saint Joseph''s At East Georgia Hospital in Greensboro. Born in Newark, New Jersey on October 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo Pirone and Nicoletta Busico Pirone. She grew up and attended school at Newark, New Jersey Schools. In 1951 she married John Anthony Nessine Sr. who preceded her in death in 2006. As newlyweds they lived in Newark, NJ, moved to Bayshore, NY and later bought their first home in Belleville, NJ, where she worked for Jergens Lotion Factory. Later they moved to Manchester, NJ where she worked as a Teacher''s Assistant in the New Jersey Public School System and retired in 2005. After her husband''s death in 2006, she moved to Eatonton to live with her daughter. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church of Lakewood, NJ. Over the years she enjoyed reading and writing poetry and short stories.

In addition to her husband, John Anthony Nessine, Sr. she was preceded in death by her siblings, Michael Pirone, James Pirone, Jerry Pirone, Flora Veneziano, Angie Liguano, Susie Cardo and a twin brother Fred Pirone who died as an infant. She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Nessine Webb and husband Ted of Eatonton, GA and Michele Nessine Baggio of Los Flores, CA; two sons, Frank John Nessine and wife RoseAnn of Vernon, NJ and John Nessine Jr. and wife Laurie of Bloomfield, NJ; grandchildren, Stacie Ann Schick and husband Fred, Frank James Nessine and wife Shari, Jessika Rovell, Davie John Rovell, Christopher Joseph Baggio, Lisa Michele Baggio, Nicholina Nessine and Joelle Nessine; a great grandchild, Selah Nessine; and many other relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at D''Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701 followed by interment in the St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Serving as pallbearers are David Rovell, Frank Nessine, Christopher Baggio and Fred Schick.
