Roman Terleckyj Obituary

IN M E M O R I A M

Roman Terleckyj became a part of the Lake Oconee community in January, 2007, arriving in Greensboro, Georgia, following an acclaimed career at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Roman eagerly accepted the challenge of becoming General Director of Arts and Culture for the Linger Longer Communities of Reynolds Plantation, Reynolds Landing, and Achasta. His dream was to integrate arts and culture as an amenity for the Lake Oconee communities. An integral part of this dream is realized in the Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS), which he was instrumental in forming, under the patronage of Mercer and Gaby Reynolds. Roman was the driving force behind the renovation and restoration of Greensboro''s former high school gymnasium into Festival Hall, a center that will serve the needs of this area for generations to come. Upon its completion in January, 2010, we will have a brick and mortar testimony to Roman''s vision for this community. His extraordinary talent has left a lasting impression on our entire region. His warm and vital humanity leaves a lasting impression upon our hearts. Roman was a friend to all, a mentor to many. His magical, inspiring, and visionary presence, will never be forgotten.

Roman is survived by Greg Barnard; his mother Ksenia Fedak; his sister, Anna Czykalowskyj and her family; and his brother Taras Fedak and his family.

Goodbye, Roman. We will miss you.
