Rogers McMillan Lemon Jr., age 83, of Greensboro, GA died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Fulton County on February 4, 1921 to the late Rogers McMillan Lemon Sr. and Carrie Louise Searight Lemon. He was a graduate of Decatur High School. During World War II, he served in the United States Army Air Corp. After the war, he graduated from Georgia State University in 1950. He was an underwriter and special agent in the insurance industry working most of his career for Penn National Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Madison, GA and had previously served as an Elder at the Seventh Day Adventist Churches in Macon and Marietta. For the past three years he had lived in Greensboro.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Veal Lemon of Greensboro, GA; sons, Rogers M. Lemon III of Hawaii, Warren H. Lemon of Shelbyville, KY and Wiley A. Slaughter and wife Gloria of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Ruth L. Harris of Roswell, GA; two grandchildren, Kip Slaughter of Atlanta, GA and Cason Slaughter of Milledgeville, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Madison with Pastor Fernando Verduzco officiating. The family requests that any memorials be made in memory of Rogers M. Lemon Jr. to the ALS Association, P.O.
