Rodney David Garceau passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. He was born in Rochester, New York, on December 24, 1948, to the late Theodore Edward Garceau and Gladys Marion Rivers Garceau. Rodney attended Fairport High School. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966, serving during the Vietnam War and receiving an honorable discharge in 1969. He married Barbara Jean Santucci on June 5, 1971. Rodney owned and operated Air Systems Heating and Cooling Inc. for twenty-five years before retiring in December 2018. The couple retired to Lake Oconee. He was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church. Rodney valued his family, was an avid golfer, and loved sports.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Santucci Garceau; three daughters, Lisa Harris, Kimberly Murphy (Joey Michael Murphy), and Jaclyn Scott (John Henry “Trey” Scott III); sisters, Judy Rae, Christine Jehle, and Tami Bastian; brothers, Keith Garceau and Scott Garceau; and grandchildren Braxton Harris (Brandi Davidoff), Danielle Murphy, Gage Murphy, Brianna Murphy, and John Henry Scott IV.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, located at 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642, with Father Adam Blatt officiating and a live stream will be available on the church website. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the Sacred Heart Social Hall. Interment will be at White Haven Memorial Cemetery in Pittsford, New York.
