Robert Henry Wenzel of the Centennial Community, died Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Greene Point Healthcare in Union Point at the age of 95. Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 26, 1925 he was the son of the late Frank and Matilda Kassebaun Wenzel. He graduated from Patchogue High School in 1942. During World War II he proudly served his country in the United States Army. In 1975 he moved to Greene County with his good friends Ronald and Evelyn Moger who both preceded him in death. For many years he was the parts manager for Smith Pontiac Chevrolet Buick, Inc. in Greensboro and retired in 1994. As long as health permitted, Bob was a faithful member of Centennial Christian Church. Bob enjoyed his adoptive granddaughters, Delaney and Abby Myers. He also had a passion for flowers and gardening.
Bob is survived by his nieces, Judith Gardner (James) of El Dorado, KS and Lynn Dandridge (Thomas) of Rockford, MI; and his very good friends, Lynn and John Myers of White Plains, GA, Judy Hodnett of White Plains, GA and Becky Baysden of White Plains, GA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marian Shaber.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Centennial Christian Church Cemetery, 4828 Centennial Road, White Plains, GA 30678 with Rev. Alec Ward officiating.
