Robert Edward Moseley, Sr., age 82, of Greensboro, GA died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Athens, GA. Born on June 30, 1929 in Monroe, Georgia, he was the youngest child of the late William Grover Moseley and Luna Pecola Tarpley Moseley. After leaving high school, he entered into the United States Army where he attended electronic repair classes under the GI Bill. He served his country for six years during the Korean War. Robert married the former Dorothy Bell Higgins on March 4, 1954. He was the owner and operator of Moseley''s TV Repair Service in Greensboro and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro, where he taught Sunday school for several years. For a number of years he wrote articles for the Herald Journal on salvation and the Bible. He enjoyed fishing, photography, solving math problems and reading his Bible daily.
In addition to his wife of nearly fifty-eight years, Dorothy Bell Higgins Moseley of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by two children, Pamela Jean Moseley Moore and husband Ricky of Greensboro, GA and Robert Edward "Bob" Moseley, Jr. of Greensboro, GA; two grandchildren, Robin Elizabeth Moore Lanier and husband William Chase Lanier of Evans, GA and Jacqueline April Moseley Grubel and husband Richard Grubel of Clemson, SC; and a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, William Grover "Junior" Moseley, Jr., James William "Red" Moseley and Myrtice Moseley Edmondson.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642. Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Durham, Rob Durham, Tim Askew, Bill Adams, Doug Askew and Ken Cawthon. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Rick Ward and Thomas Moon. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time for the service Friday at McCommons Funeral Home.
