Robert Kuchman Obituary

Robert Michael Kuchman

Robert “Bob” Kuchman, age 73 of Greensboro, Georgia, beloved husband of Caryl Jacobs Kuchman, died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, Georgia.  Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on February 21, 1946, he was the oldest child of the late Adam and Margaret Kuchman.  Bob was a graduate of Northeast Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts, and enjoyed a 40-year professional career as a mechanical design engineer.  After many years as Plant Engineer with the Kendall Company in Camden, SC, Bob accepted a manufacturing engineer position with Oak Mitsui, Inc., also in Camden, and retired from there in 2001. Bob and Caryl enjoyed their weekend home in Reynolds Lake Oconee for many years, before making Reynolds their permanent home in 2016. Bob’s many interests included golfing with family and friends, fishing adventures with his brothers, European and Caribbean travels with his wife, and cooking.

In addition to Caryl, to whom he was married for 36 years, he is survived by two sons, Derek Kuchman (Kara) and Neil Kuchman (Christina); brothers, Stephen Kuchman (Sue) and Paul Kuchman; sisters, Charlene Kuchman and Eileen Bruno (Steve); grandson, Chase Kuchman; and  brother-in-law Jeffrey Jacobs (Carter Doswell); three nieces, Kaitlin Bruno, Danielle Bruno (Evan Demers), and Catherine Bergman (Steve); and one nephew, Brian Jacobs (Stasia Rogacki). Bob will also be truly missed by his Lake Oconee fishing companion, his faithful pooch, Boots.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  The family requests that any memorials be made to The First Tee of Augusta (www.thefirstteeaugusta.org), Goshen Plantation Golf Course, 1601 Goshen Clubhouse Drive, Augusta, GA 30906 or to the charity of your choosing.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
