Robert Martin Fachini

Robert Martin Fachini. 82, of Greensboro, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2012. He was born on July 1, 1930 in Memphis, TN to the late Martin Joseph Fachini and the late Lena Ragghianti Fachini. He attended Memphis State University and Southwestern University in Memphis, TN. For thirty-nine years he worked for International Harvester Company and J. I. Case Company as Chief Product Engineer retiring on March 14, 1988. On July 4, 1950, he married the former Shirley Zanone in Memphis, TN. They made their home in Memphis, TN before moving to Naperville, IL. For the last seventeen years, he had lived at Lake Oconee, where he enjoyed golf and cooking. He was a member of Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro. He was also a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers and in 1986 he was the winner of Mayfield Cotton Engineering Award.

In addition to his wife, Shirley Fachini of Greensboro, GA, Mr. Fachini is survived by four daughters: Elaine May (Steve), Elissa Lowry (Gaylan), Carol Fachini, Lauren Fenzil (Ken) and three sons: Mark (Cathy), Aldo (Patricia) and John Fachini; sister, Gloria Crawford (Tommy); 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Lena Fachini, his infant daughter, Mary and grandson Dennis Clemmer.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father G. Philip Ryan officiating. A luncheon will be held following the service in the Sacred Heart Social Hall. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night at McCommons Funeral Home.
