Robert Lewis Dickson, Sr

Robert Lewis Dickson, Sr. age 75, of Greensboro, GA died Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at St. Mary''s Hospital in Athens. Born in Fulton County on March 10, 1930 he was the son of the late Hugh Dickson and Mabel Kilgore Dickson. He was a graduate of Conyers High School and attended the University of Georgia. For five years he served in the United States Navy. During this time he was stationed in Cuba and also served in the Korean Conflict. Before retiring to Lake Oconee in 1990 he was the owner and operator of Century 21 Dickson Realty in Conyers. For over twenty five years he was a real estate broker and developer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greensboro. His hobbies included collecting guns and guitars.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Hood Dickson, of Greensboro, GA; two daughters, Kathy Adkins and husband Tommy of Alpharetta, GA and Cindy Henderson and husband Mike of Chesnee, SC; two sons, Bob Dickson and wife Stephanie of Madison, GA and Kyle Dickson of Greensboro, GA; a sister, Betty Delk and husband Kin of Conyers, GA; six grandchildren, Brett Adkins, Lacey Adkins, Lauren Henderson, Alex Dickson, Emily Dickson and Rachel Dickson; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Dickson.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Greensboro with Rev. Richard Chewning officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Kin Delk, Joe Cowan, Bob Francis, Robert Bradley, Gerald Torbert and Adam Bradley.
