Richard Andrus “Andy” Nash, of Greensboro, GA passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, GA at the age of 84. He was born October 13, 1938 in Tipton, Indiana, one of four sons of the late Robert Lee and Sarah Josephine Surratt Nash. He received his Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Purdue University where he was a member of Delta Delta Chapter of Sigma Chi. He proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Army. For thirty plus years he worked for Sun Trust Bank as the Senior Vice-President of the Credit Card Department retiring in 1996. Andy married Patsy Lou Weaver on January 25, 1964 and they were married for fifty-six years at the time of her death in August of 2020. In 1980 they purchased a home in Greensboro and moved here permanently from Atlanta, GA eighteen years ago. Andy was a member of Walker United Methodist Church in Greensboro and also a member of the Reynolds Veterans Association and a founding contributor to the Army National Museum in Virginia. Andy was a dedicated family man, a straight shooter and loved golfing, boating and sports.
He is survived by a daughter, Dawn Sinclair (Steve) of Eatonton, GA; son, Bryan Nash (Diane) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Joey Nickerson, Nash Sinclair, Dylan Sinclair and Mason Sinclair; brothers, Tim Nash and Pat Nash; a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lou Weaver Nash and a brother, Michael Nash.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. David Collins officiating.
