Richard Carlton “Carl” Higdon, 64, of White Plains, GA died Thursday, May 7, 2020. A native of Greene County he was born September 7, 1955 to the late James Roy Higdon and Martha Annie Edmonds Higdon. He graduated from Greene County High School and on December 19, 1979 he married the former Joyce Stephens of Milledgeville, GA. Until his retirement he was a logger for Plains Logging. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Stephens Higdon of White Plains, GA; two sons, Eric (Danielle) Higdon of Greensboro, GA and their children, Amber, Codie and Madylynn Higdon and Bryan Higdon of Habersham County, GA; and a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Judy Underwood, Gail Duvall, Laural Jean Higdon, Mabel Higdon Leitheiser, Larry Higdon, and Randall Higdon.

The family will hold a celebration of Carl’s life at a later date. The family requests that any memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
